Abstract
Sufism has long existed in the Indonesian archipelago. The presence of Sufism or Sufi orders (Tariqat) in this country has been warmly welcomed by the people. There are 45 Sufi orders in Indonesia that are considered authentic. One of these orders is the "Qadiriyyah-Naqshbandiyyah," which was established by an Indonesian Sufi scholar. This research, using a descriptive-analytical method and primary sources of the Qadiriyyah-Naqshbandiyyah order, examines this order in Indonesia and shows its interaction with the Salafi movement. The Qadiriyyah-Naqshbandiyyah is an independent and new order that has developed only in Southeast Asia. This order, in its encounter with other Islamic groups, including the Salafi movement, and specifically with the Muhammadiyah movement, which is very close to the Qadiriyyah-Naqshbandiyyah in some spiritual teachings, has had constructive interactions through continuous scholarly dialogues and also in some government projects. On the other hand, in response to negative propaganda from Salafis, the Qadiriyyah-Naqshbandiyyah has tried to present its teachings with correct and clear explanations.
