Abstract
The noble “Ḥadīth al-Thaqalayn” is one of the consecutive and authoritative narrations of the two sects narrated by the Prophet (S) in different situations, according to which, he emphasized the sanctity of the Holy Qur’an, the high positions of the Imams (AS), and the necessity of following them. In his treatise, entitled “Saadat al-Darin fi Sharḥ Ḥadīth al-Thaqalayn”, ʿAbdulʿAzīz Dihlawī distorted the authority of the “Ḥadīth al-Thaqalayn”. Given his scientific position and influence on the Deobandi Movement, it is necessary to discuss his doubts about this Ḥadīth. This study seeks to evaluate the incorrect methods that ʿAbdulʿAzīz Dihlawī used to undermine the noble Ḥadīth al-Thaqalayn. This study is descriptive-analytical-critical and cites authoritative Sunni sources. The study’s findings reveal fundamental weaknesses of ʿAbdulʿAzīz Dihlawī’s doubts. With a little reflection on the sources of narration and observance of fairness, one can resolve the weak points that Dihlawī refers to.
